MR. Ayub Abdirizak was welcomed in Bosaso.

Puntland:  A Somali Journalist, a political analyst and a former officer of the Somali Army Mr. Ayub Abdirizak was welcomed in Bosaso.

Ayub, who is a  Somali political analyst living abroad was welcomed today in Bosaso, the capital city  of Puntland. The purpose of his visit is about observing the situation in Puntland and Somalia in general.

Officials from the Puntland government and other people received warmly this official at Bosaso Airport and escorted him to the inside of the city.

He spoke to the media at his residence in Bosaso and explained the purpose of his trip, which he described as an observation of Puntland situation.

"I have come here to observe the general situation in Somalia which is in a difficult period.

I am sorry to say that  problems including lack of freedom of speech and the suppression of the press still exist  in Somalia , but I praise Puntland is    one of the places where the most freedom and better press is practised.

 Continueing his speech he said,

"While I am in the country, I will encourage the unity of the people and make the community aware the risk of  tribalism and divisions and I will focus on strengthening the unity of the people in relation to the country and the people as one.

Ayub, once again said that it is necessary to take a different approach to fighting Al-Shabaab religious thugs.

"With community unity, we can defeat our terrorist enemies. More than 30 years after the collapse of the central government, we are victims of terrorism and bad government.

I suggest that the regime of Hassan Sheikh should be honest in the war  against al-Shabaab, I am sure that Hassan is not honest in the battle against terrorism."

He sent a message to the President and Prime Minister of Somalia and said.

"Hassan and Hamse are the weakest leaders that ever ruled in the country. President Hassan is a man who doesn't work for the country but came to work from it, and Hamse is only looking out for his own interests and wants  not to be removed from office. I would say that the country and the people should be saved. "

Finally, he said that while he is in the country, he will meet with Somali leaders, academic people  elites and young people and will discuss with them the importance of youth in politics and create opportunities for them to lead the country and than he will visit Sool, Nugaal and Mudug region during his trip in Puntland.

"While I am in the country, I will meet with the traditional elders,  president and I will also visit the Sool region that is recovering from the wars and conflicts that happened there and I will advise the parties who are facing each other to achieve peace and understanding because there is no conflict that has a good result."
