Somalia: Banadir Region Sets Date for Local Council Elections

 Mogadishu – The Independent National Electoral and Boundaries Commission has announced the official schedule for the upcoming local council elections in the Banadir region.

Speaking at a press conference held at the Commission’s headquarters, Chairman Abdikarim Ahmed Hassan confirmed that residents of the Banadir region will head to the polls on the 25th of next month.

Chairman Abdikarim emphasized that the election will follow a one-person, one-vote system, giving citizens the opportunity to directly choose their local leaders.

Political parties participating in the race have already launched vigorous campaigns as they seek support from voters across the region
